Spartan Race Giveaway

Happy "hump day" guys!  This week has been busy for me.  I flew back on Monday from San Diego where I spent the weekend announcing the San Diego Half Marathon.  I'll have a full recap of that soon, but it was a great race and one I highly suggest you look into for 2015.
How about some mid-week excitement?  Sound good!

I'm sure you've heard of the challenging and fun Spartan Race series. Well today I've giving away one free entry to any 2014 race in the continental US.

According to their website, Spartan Race is on a mission to get you active, healthy, excited about change, and return to our ancient roots where running through woods, getting dirty, and facing adversity was part of everyday life. Our events are all about challenging today’s perception of normal.

Spartan Race now introduces a level for everyone beginning with the entry level Spartan Sprint, intermediate level Super Spartan, the advanced Spartan Beast, and the ‘99.9% need not apply’ extreme level Death Race.

The closest race to me is Miami, but they have races of all distances across the country.  Use the rafflecopter widget below for your chance to win.  Note - It works best viewed in desktop version or email me if you have trouble entering.

For those of you who are ready for the challenge now, Spartan Race is giving all Fit2Flex readers a code for 15% off race entry. Just enter using this link.

What's the toughest workout or race you've ever done?
Have you seen the new 300?

Love and warriors,
Carissa & Kyle

  1. Harrisburg half marathon was the hardest race I ever had to run.

  4. Doing my first half marathon was very tough for me! I'm now looking forward to my first full marathon this year :)

  5. Completing the GORUCK Challenge was the toughest thing I've ever done. It was a 12.5 hour event and we covered 20 miles.

  6. the hardest race I did was my first 10 miler. It was mentally tough because I had never done that distance before. I also lost my car key around mile 7 and had no support team at the race. I also couldn't be excited and realized what I had just done once I crossed the finishline because I was so darn worried about the key and how I was getting home. My phone was also locked in the car. :[ I would love to do the spartan race though

  7. I completed the Vermont spartan beast last year. Took just under 9 hours but so rewarding once I crossed the finish line

  8. My hardest race was probably my very first 5k. I went from a very over weight couch potato to running....it was tough, but I did it!! Since then I feel like I can accomplish anything I set my mind to no matter what.

  9. Toughest race I've ever done is the Primal Mud Run in Virginia. It was my first obstacle race, and even though it was a challenge, it was a lot of fun.

  10. Toughest race I've ever done was the Warrior Dash series, it happened to be raining the entire time before and after we can so the course was a big mud pit.

  11. I've had two tough races, for different reasons. My first half, last year's Wine & Dine, was tough for me due to the humidity. My last race, the Hot Chocolate 15k in Seattle, was tough due to all the hills (1155 ft elevation gain). But, I made it through both and I'm becoming a stronger runner every day!

  12. I've always been afraid, but it's great to see that they have a beginner's course now! There are a ton on the East Coast, too!

The toughest workout I ever did... hmmm... I'd have to say it was probably pre-season my junior year in college. We had our very last pre-season practice in an extremely hot gym at UC Davis, and I nearly passed out. I was so glad when it was all over!

  13. My husband and I did Spartan Race in Tampa, just last month. It was amazing!!!
My toughest workout was when we were training for Tough Mudder. We went to their website and printed the Tough Mudder bootcamp. (That hurt)
I love races like these. They give you a sense of empowerment. "Wow, I did that" You wear your finisher shirt with pride!!

  14. Ran the Spartan Beast World Championship last year, but injuries during the race got the best of me and had to pull out after 7 hours. I'd love to go back this year and finish what I started.

  15. Dirty Dash which was up a ski mountain

  16. My toughest overall was a Spartan Sprint, but I did a Merrell Down & Dirty where my shoes filled with mud & gravel at the first mud pit, so the actual running (2.5 more miles, all trails and hills) was the hardest I'd ever done. Can't wait to do both again :)

  17. Toughest race I did was the Spartan last year, but I'm hoping to do it again!

  18. The toughest race I've done is a 5-miler in Florida. Running in the heat is a challenge.
