did a tempo run, I struggled. I think I always will struggle with tempo runs. They're hard and run. They're supposed to be. It was very warm out even at 8am, but I knew that I had to push myself hard to make up for not being with the group. I did a slow (10:17) 1 mile warm-up and then aimed for 4 tempo miles under 9 minute per mile pace.
|Yes, I look creepy.|
Tuesday afternoon I did more solo speed work. I was a little bit rebellious this week and did NOT follow the workout of the group. Prior to marathon training I did a lot of high intensity interval running and I know the calorie burning benefits of it. I opted to do 9 repeats of 1 minutes sprint, 1 minute jog. My sprints were in the 6:15 range and yes, when I was done I looked like death.
I'm off to study for my RD exam. I have a loose schedule of how many pages I want to review each day. 15 on tap for today with flash card making...party time! I'm also going to use today to catch up on errands, blogging, emails, and then Kyle has a surprise date planned for tonight at 7pm. Hmmmmm......
What is harder for you - track work or tempo runs?
Is it still blazing hot where you live?
What should I wear for my date?
Love and sneaker laces,
Carissa & Kyle
