Weekend Recap

Sometimes I like Mondays. Sometimes I don't. I'm hoping this week is a good one, so I'll start off by recapping a fun, family weekend.  Keep the happy going right?

Friday Night:
Kyle and I opted for a quiet night at home since we both had early Saturday am wake-ups.  Kyle got a panini maker for Christmas and this was our first chance to use it.  Welcome to "Bealert Family Panini" night.  I rarely eat sandwiches or bread (I know, crazy) so this was exciting for me.

On the menu were pesto mozzarella tomato caprese, roast beef and swiss with horseradish sauce, and deli chicken and cheddar sandwiches.

The caprese smelled beautiful, but I didn't like all the melted cheese.  The chicken won for me and I'm embarrassed to say that Kyle ate 1/3 pound of roast beef.  Yum!

After the bread-fest we watched the "Bourne Legacy". It was interesting, but I missed me some Matt Damon.

Saturday:
Saturday morning I announced the Lady Track Shack 5k.  We celebrated 2300 girls in pink across the finish line.

It was 40 degrees and freezing for this Florida girl.  I stopped to get coffee at 7-11 before the race and the cashier asked me if I was going snow skiing.  Nope, I just like my ears warm.

Saturday warmed up nicely and I gave up dreams of a nap for an outside run.  I knocked out 8 repeat 400's that ranged from 1:38-1:45.  The total distance was 4.17 miles. I loved it! I rocked my thick Sparkly Soul headband.

Saturday night was a night full of "married excitement". Are you ready for this? We went to look for a coffee maker. Get down with your bad self. Before we left the house I noticed a little friend in my car.  Ah-hem.

Our coffee maker went ka-put on Monday am.  Talk about a long week without coffee.  I did a lot of back and forth thinking and had a drip coffee maker in my basket and then I took a long look at the Keurig.  The ease and the fact that I can make green tea too finally sold me.  We are now a Keurig family. Any tips?

We finished off our Saturday with a date night at Bosphorous and then indulged in some fro-yo.

I had chocolate and praline with heath and butterfinger.  I never change this combo.

Sunday:
Sunday morning we had some Keurig cups.  Mmmmmm were they good.  It should be also noted that I use too much creamer.  Noted.

We had his & hers Coach's Oats with blueberries and cinnamon.  I added a scoop of PB to mine.  Don't tell Kyle.

Sunday night we headed to Kyle's parents' house for food, more food, and football.  We had an early PF Chang's snack and grilled for dinner. Here's my plate:

As for the game, I was rooting for the Niners. Only because Kaepernick kisses his biceps and I like any excuse to recreate muscular poses.

In the end I was happy it was a good game.  What did you guys think of the halftime show?

That's the weekend recap.  Shew, I'm tired just reading all of that.  Next weekend we're taking a trip to the beach with Kelsey and Matt.  Is it Friday yet?
