It's OCTOBER!! As our family friend Leslie pointed out on my facebook wall, "It's MY month." My birthday is in October, my Mom's birthday is in October, Halloween is in October, so I'm generally joyful. It is MY month.
Random fact: Those 3 days above actually happen on the 29,30,and 31 in that order. Talk about a big end of the month...oh and you can add Kyle's Dad's bday on the 28th and his sister's bday on November 1. Ok...maybe it's "OUR" month.

Regardless, I LOVE October. Today's it Wednesday and here that means a link up to Jen at
Peas & Crayons. This month's theme is Halloween Treats & Snacks. My inspiration for today's post is my Top 5 Halloween Treats.
And I didn't say they were healthy.
1. MellowCreme Pumpkins
This one wins by a landslide. Seriously. This would be one and number two is really like number 6 with spots 2-5 also going to MellowCreme pumpkins. I love them SO much. I typically don't eat them until October 27 and stop on the 30th.
I have no will power to sweet, honey laden artificially colored pumpkins. ps- I only like Brach's pumpkins. The other brands just don't taste the same. And yes I accept birthday gifts early :)
2. Vegetable Halloween Skeleton
I do really like to nibble on vegetables, especially in social situations. Binge eating celery is WAY better than diving face first into a bowl of #1. If you have kids they have like this spooky presentation and they'll enjoy setting up Mr. Bones.
3. Tootsie Roll Ghost Pops
Talk about nostalgia. Tootsie Roll Ghost pops take me right back to childhood. I remember thinking my Mom was so cool when she made these. Easy, cute, tasty, AND you might even get lucky and get the Indian with the star. Ooooohhhhhhhh.
4. Pumpkin/Cider Beer
This is definitely an adult Halloween treat, but nothing feels more fall to me than a crisp pumpkin or cider beer. I had my first Shipyard pumpkin beer this year and I'm a fan. Just one feels satisfying and "oh so pumpkiny".
5. SkinnyTaste Pumpkin Muffins
It's very likely that these muffins make an appearance at my home today. They require pumpkin, cake mix, water, and spices. Off the charts easy and a great crowd pleaser. You can also ice them and call them a "cupcake".
I hope you enjoyed a rundown on things that treat our taste buds in October. Coming up Thursday on the blog is another "ThrowDown Thursday" workout and Friday I'll debut a 5 minute shrimp recipe.
What's your favorite Halloween Treat?
Love and ghosts,
Carissa & Kyle
