I feel like I'm a little slow this week. I think I'm still tired from the big race weekend. I'm also noticing that I'm a bit behind in the pop culture realm.
How am I just figuring this out?
Runners kept doing this dance at Disney and now it makes sense. But how can I quote Honey Boo Boo and not know Gangnam style? I'm so uncool.
I also just started reading Divergent this week, which is a dystopian novel similar to The Hunger Games. Everyone was reading Divergent months ago, however I'm cheap and I was on the waiting list at the library. I'm fascinated by the alternate world they created and the factions. Apparently I'm really into dystopian novels. The Giver is my favorite book of all time. Have you read it?
I'm physically slow this week too. Just a tad. Last night I set out for another set of repeat 800's to work on my speed for the upcoming Women's Half. I did 4 repeat 800's two weeks ago and I felt "faster" yesterday as I was doing the 800's, but a check of the Garmin said I was about the same.
Week 1 800 Splits: Week 2 800 Splits:
3:44 3:59 (uphill)
My third 800 was uphill yesterday and I think that exhaustion carried over into the last one. I go back and forth over whether I should do my repeats on the treadmill or not. On the treadmill I can set the speed and insure I stay there. However I get to bored and am more likely to stop early. Outside the time goes by much faster, but I'm worried I'm not getting to the right speed. What a dilemma.
Two questions for you today:
Where do you do your repeats? Inside or outside?
What's on your pop culture radar this week?
Love and snails pace,
