Food and Wine Classic at Disney's Swan & Dolphin Hotel

Even though we had a great weekend I am FIRED up for Monday!  I made Kyle get up early and train me this am...then I complained through half of my workout.  Ah - the joys of being married to your trainer.

Are you fired up for Monday?  Here's some motivation:
We had an amazing weekend!  It started Friday when we went to the Food & Wine Classic at Disney's Swan & Dolphin hotel.  One of Kyle's clients were kind enough to give us two unlimited wristbands so we were jazzed.
2 Carissa's!
Our good luck got even better when our friends Carlos & Carissa decided to come along AND they let us stay the night in their Presidential Suite at a nearby hotel. Really?  Really.
I want this kitchen.
Carissa and Carlos had the Presidential Suite at the Bonnet Creek resort to celebrate their anniversary and Carissa's birthday. (yes, 2 Carissa's, with the last initial B, and October birthdays).  The room was very impressive with a full kitchen, dining room table, washer & dryer, huge balcony, and 2 bedrooms.  The view was impressive too. You could see across Disney and to Downtown Orlando.
We hopped in a cab (world's hottest cab) over to the Swam & Dolphin hotel for the Food & Wine Classic.  It featured food from their award-winning restaurants, numerous wine booths, and a great band.  With our wristband we were allowed to taste and drink as much as we wanted, but we tried to be reasonable.
I sampled several wines during the night, but really loved the Greg Norman wines.   In the food department they had everything from shrimp cigar shooters with lemon foam to oysters to beef brisket and crab cakes.
Shrimp shooters.
A big hit of the night was the burger with truffle aioli and caramelized onions.  We went back for seconds!
There were lines for the food, however we never waited more than 10 minutes for food.

There was also a celebrity chef sighting- Todd English!  I'm a huge chef fan and have been addicted to shows like Top Chef since Season 1.  I wanted a pic with Todd, but Kyle said you had to wait in the food line to get a pic.  I didn't agree, but I did it.  The food line ended only to discover it was for raw oysters.  Something which neither of us are a fan.  So I took my pic and Carissa ate the oysters.
I wish I was a celebrity chef so I could pull of the "crooked-no teeth smile". They must teach that at culinary school.

The weather was beautiful and it was a great night.  Even though I ran 6 miles that morning I still feel like a slug after eating everything!  Plus we have one week of clean eats before heading the Epcot's main Food & Wine festival this weekend!  Hello veggies and chicken breast!

Have you ever been to a "foodie" event or Epcot's Food & Wine festival?

Love and BlueZoo,
Carissa & Kyle
