Fast is a relative term

Fast is a relative term.

In my head, I don't run fast.  My 9:12 half marathon PR pace is slow.  I think my sister-in-law is fast.  She paces 7min miles for a half.  However I bet she see's women pass her on the course and then she thinks she's slow.  And I guarantee there are those of you who think my times are "fast".

Fast is a relative term.  I don't run and do speed work because I want to be fast.  I do it because I want to be "better".

Looking over my results from my last 3 "Repeat 800" sessions, I think I am getting "better".
I still curse the world during my 800's, but I am pumping my arms and maybe getting faster.  Saturday I plan on doing a long, slow run of 11-12 miles and then more speed work next week.

THE WOMEN'S HALF IS LESS THAN 1 MONTH AWAY!

Speaking of kudos, congrats to Karla who kicked some ThrowDown Thursday butt this week. Check out her recap post here.

I feel I should also tell you that I have a new love of my life- coconut butter.  #obsessed. I've been chopping up a banana and putting it in a mug with 1 tablespoon of coconut butter.
It's my new fave snack.  And because I'm eating it with a fork it lasts longer and is thus more satisfying.  That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Have you ever eaten coconut butter?

Random question of the day - What is your opinion on the chicken in canned soups?

I call it suspect.  I randomly had soup for lunch today and I couldn't bring myself to eat the "chicken".

Love and weirdos,
