After they're done.
Am I right? Sometimes that last mile just has me thinking, "This is terrible. Why am I doing this? I'm never doing another race." Actually, on Wednesday at mile 9.4 I was thinking, "Wow, I am never doing another full marathon. That would stink to run 16 more miles." But once I'm doing running and better hydrated I'm all proud of myself and tweeting to the world my running dominance. Thank you for responding to my tweets friends.
This week I had a 10 miles on my agenda. I wasn't dreading it, however I wasn't too psyched either. My 9 miles last week hit a 10:15 pace and I wasn't thrilled. I worked on a little positive mental imagery, was reminded by Dorothy that bad long runs are okay, and headed out the door.
On longer runs I do much better with an "out and back" strategy. If I can go 5 miles then I HAVE to get back home. The mental battle is much easier. However my usual route is in chaos and some of my water fountains have been moved. My water belt is good, but after about 7 miles it's too much. I had to play some trail jumping to get in the ten, stay hydrated, and not run by my house because it's too tempting to stop. :)
I do however find a new part of my running route:
A real bathroom! It's the little things people! Now if nature calls I have a place to go and then wash my hands! Take that all you "just go in the woods" runners!
Mile 1 was my typical wake up mile. Miles 2-5 were actually pretty nice. I kept a 9:30 pace and tried to conserve energy. Miles 5-7 were where I had to make weird loops to stay near water, but still hit my out and back point. They were frustrating. Miles 8-9 started to ache, but they were manageable. Mile 8.5-9 was uphill. Wanted. To. Vomit. And mile 10 was just me wondering why I was still running.
I finished with a 9:44 pace. Better. Not good enough yet, but better. The weather is finally
I have another 6 mile tempo run this week and a heavy strength workout on Sunday.

I just can't resist the pumpkin. I'd never seen pumpkin salsa before so naturally I had to buy some then immediately instagram it. I'm thinking some chips are on the menu for Sunday Night Football.
What's one food trend that you shamelessly love? What new shows are you watching?
Love and 10,
