Goal setting can be a very important part of behavior change, however if it's not done properly goals can easily fall by the wayside. I'm talking to you Mr. New Year's Resolution!
We're starting a new trend on Fit2Flex and that's Monday Goals. Each Monday we'll share with you our Monday goal. We'll aim to achieve it for just one week and report our results on Sunday. I encourage you to do the same and if you feel comfortable share your goal with us.

- Specific
- Measureable
- Attainable
- Rewarding
- Time specific
To say, "I want to lose 5 pounds" is nice and all, but it's not a well formulated goal.
Goals should be more specific and time driven.
For example, "I want to decrease my calorie intake by 500 calories each day this week and workout for 30 minutes." Those changes right there would give you a 1+ pound weight loss in a week. Plus they give your brain a road map on how to get there.

I have been a traveling fool and I'm thankful to be home for a good stretch of time. I work hard to eat well when I travel, however I've become unfocused in my meal planning. My goal this week is to track my daily intake with SparkPeople and record my overall calorie intake Monday - Friday.
Your goals can be simple.
- I want to take fruit as a snack 3 times this week.
- I want to get up early and run 1 morning this week.
- I want to drink water instead of soda at work.
- I want to avoid the candy jar 2 nights this week.
- I want to eat breakfast 4 mornings this week.
If you need help creating a goal please email us. We strive to live healthy, because our bodies and minds feel better when we do. We strive to share that sense of well-being with everyone. If we can help you, let us know.
What's your goal for this week?
Love and SMART,
Carissa & Kyle
