Capital Grille

The blog is called Fit2Flex, however sometimes during Magical Dining Month I feel like it should be called, "Fit2StuffMyFace".  We really enjoy the benefits of Magical Dining Month here in Orlando.

Before we talk about stuffing our faces, if you're looking for Monday workout inspiration I highly recommend the Keepin' it 100 full body workout.  Boom goes the dynamite.

Our first meal out was at Fleming's Steakhouse and last Thursday we went to Capital Grille.
We've been to Capital Grille twice before in 2011 and 2010 for Magical Dining and it has always been amazing. We had a late reservation on Thursday night, because Kyle was working. We were surprised to get there at 825 and be told it would be a wait.  Wait? Reservation + late + weeknight = wait? I was confused.  I was also hungry and 30 minutes later when we finally sat down I wasn't thrilled.

We were wondering if Capital Grille's run at the top was nearing it's end, but then the waiter brought us each a glass of champagne to lift our spirits.  Free bubbly? Always a good call.

Magical Dining allows you to have a 3-course dinner for $30.  Our first course was a choice between clam chowder, mixed greens salad, and Caesar salad.  Kyle chose the Caesar and I went with the mixed greens for nutritional value.  Kyle won this round.  Big time.  It was probably the most delicious Caesar salad I've ever seen.  It had 3 huge pieces of cheese and the croutons were actually garlic cheese toasts.
Terrible picture, great salad.
The entree course was an easy choice for both of us.  We've been getting the same thing each time we visit here.  Kyle got the 14oz Kona (coffee) crusted sirloin.
I enjoyed their grilled salmon. The large portion left me leftovers for lunch the next day.
Our sides were creamed spinach and mashed potatoes shared by the table.  I loved the spinach, but I shudder thinking about the fat content of it.
Dessert was another easy choice. Creme brulee for both!  The vanilla flavor is so strong and delightful.
Even though we had a slow start, I think we'll return to Capital Grille next year.

I'm excited about some fun things I have coming to the blog this week.  I'll have a recap of the Central Florida Bloggers conference, a "pop-up" giveaway, and a new Thursday video feature.

Did you go out to dinner this weekend?  What did you have?

Love and hot plates,
Carissa & Kyle
