Women's Half Marathon St. Petersburg Giveaway

Today I have a new #FitAugust Challenge and a Half Marathon giveaway! But first...

I took my Medical Nutrition Therapy final today.  It wasn't awful, rip-my-hair out hard, but it was long (70 questions) and had a lot of case studies.  I'll have to wait until next week to see how I did overall in the class.  After my final I traded in my mental beating for a physical one at Evolution Fitness.  "Tebow" squats as we call them were on tap for today. They were immediately followed by a bosu ball burpee-shoulder raise-squat combo.  Wow.
I treated myself to a Mix1 shake and brown rice sushi when I was done.
It's time to reveal this week's FitAugust challenge:
That's right! This week we want you to find a way to LOVE to sweat! Yes...LOVE!
Whether you like to run, row, incline walk, or shake it in Zumba, there are major benefits to cardio.

Strength training is the main part of my fitness routine, but cardio plays a complimentary role too.  When Kyle trains me we are always working to elevate my heart rate and improve my cardiovascular function.  I also run 2 times a week for fun and as part of my half marathon training.

My sister-in-law Kelsey and I are running the Women's Half Marathon in St. Petersburg, FL on November 18.  I'll post my full training plan next week, but right now I'm up to 6.5 miles and 5x400 repeats.
I'm excited about this race for several reasons:
  • Flat, fast course
  • Beautiful waterfront views
  • It's all about the ladies! I love the energy of a female-centered race.
  • Awesome palm tree medal!
I'm grateful for the Women's Half for selecting me as an ambassador and I'm going to do my best to knock down my sub-2 hour goal!

I'd love to see you in St. Petersburg on November 18 taking on 13.1 too.

This week's giveaway is for one free registration for the November 18 Women's Half Marathon in St. Petersburg, Florida. a Rafflecopter giveaway
