A Good Saturday

I'm pretty excited for today.  I feel like I haven't been myself lately. Lots of work, stress at school, and not enough time laughing with friends.  My mission this weekend has been to turn that around and I'm pleased to report it's going very well.

Friday night Kyle and I had a healthy, low-key dinner at home. Eggs for him and leftover spicy, Spanish chicken for me.  Then we headed to a late showing of The Election. It was funny...not Anchorman funny...but some good chuckles.
I die over Will Ferrell movies and I have loved him since watching him as a kid on SNL.
Spartan Cheerleaders...Come on....

I also love his "Get off the Shed" skits...does anyone else remember that?

I just now realized that "Champ" from "Anchorman" is in this skit.  Anndddddd whammy!

My Saturday morning started with a 6.5 run. I made an effort to get up earlier today and avoid some of the heat. I need a good hour to wake up, eat, have coffee, then run.

I started my run at 8:30 (yes, I know that's not early) and this lady struggled.  Wow. The first 3 miles weren't bad, but I just started to ache after that.  I kept repeating to myself, "Be Strong" and finished up the 6.5 miles under a 10 minute pace.

I immediately threw myself into an ice bath, popped some Nuun, and ate a banana.

Tonight we have 3 other couples coming over for a seriously awesome party.  Pizza, wine, and pictionary!
Should I wear these to the party? #Zensah
I thought it would be a fun idea for each couple to create a pizza. Kyle and I are keeping it simple with mini turkey pepperoni and roasted pepper pizzas. I"ll let you know tomorrow how all the pizzas turn out.

Our friend blogger friend Alexis will be here too, so I'm sure she'll have details on her blog too.

What do you think is another fun idea for a couples dinner party?

Love and "omg my kitchen is going to be a mess",
