Hi. My name is Carissa and I'm a recovering jet lagger. Shew. It feels good to admit that.
My flight from Sydney to Dallas was rough. 16 hours to be exact. I tried to sleep, but barely managed two 1-hour naps. I blame the person behind me fully.
I passed the time by enjoying the wonderful selection of movies. I watched:
- Revolutionary Road
- The Departed
- Annie Hall
- Something Borrowed
- 3 episodes of "New Girl"
The flight home was less "eventful" then my trip there. I was overjoyed to be reunited with Kyle and our sweet kitties.
I also tried to study for my Food Service Operations final which I'm taking today. Dear Brain, please work!
Monday I was pretty much a zombie. I took the day off from working out to let my body recover. I also tried to eat healthy, nutrient-dense foods.
My breakfast was a big bowl of overnight oats in a jar. I followed that up with an omega-3 packed snack. Two scrambled Eggland's best eggs (full of omega-3's), a MorningStar veggie patty, raspberries, and OJ with an airborne.
I managed to clean the house, pay bills, and bake carrot cake oatmeal. I also made a clean dinner of turkey blue cheese meatballs and homemade marinara sauce.
I plan to work over the week and create some fresh, clean, easy meals to add to your recipe collection. Look for those next week!
Here's a look at our weekly In & Out as I get back to my regular, wonderful American life.
