I have been skydiving. I eat raw cookie dough batter. I run at noon in Florida...in June.
I'm straight crazy.
I had a jam packed day yesterday, so when I got out of class early I knew I wanted to get a run in. I got home, gave my cats some TLC, and headed out the door.
My run only lasted 18 minutes, but it involved high intensity interval sprints. I often do HIIT sprints in the summer or when I'm not into my specific race training plans. The shorter runs are great for the heat and because I'm doing such high intensity intervals, I'm actually burning more calories after my workout.

Totals:
2.04 miles
18:01
8:55 average pace
When I started out my legs felt like lead. Runners do you ever have that feeling? You're moving, but it sure doesn't feel like it. I almost wanted to laugh out loud I felt so sluggish. At about 6 minutes I felt better and my pace evened out to around 9:15.

In case you're looking for some more great blogs to read today, Dorothy had a great post on how to do a progression run that I suggest you check out. I'm going to attempt to tackle one tomorrow as long as my legs don't feel like lead again. Stretch Carissa....duh!
What's your favorite type of training run?
Love and EPOC,
