When you say nothing at all

I love blogging.  I really do. I get amped to share a good workout, recipe, or when I say something really witty. I get even more amped when readers respond and enjoy what we're all about.

Sometimes, however, that creates pressure.  Pressure to blog and share something. There are tons of different types of bloggers. There are the 3+ times a day bloggers (Julie, Courtney, Monica, Meghann) that I adore and respect like crazy.  These girls, IMHO, are awesome!

I am more of a daily blogger.  I like blogging daily. Usually it gives me something to look forward to and there are days where it pushes me to create a workout or cook up something new to share.

Today, however, I feel like I have *meah*. Which means in Carissa lingo "nada".
Veteran bloggers always give out the advice to post "quality content" and not just to post to post. So I wasn't going to blog today, but then some twitter inspiration struck and here I am.

Boy I'm a contradiction.

Blogging is a hobby for me. It's an outlet.  When I think of it that way then, are working out and running hobbies too? Because there are days when I don't want to workout/run, but I do it anyway. Why? Because I know my body needs to be pushed to grow stronger and feel healthy.

Maybe today my brain needs to be pushed.  Push little neurons and maybe you shall be more creative tomorrow?

Or my brain just needs a break.
I have a Food Science final this week and 2 out-of-town work trips.  My anxiety level is creeping up.
For those of you wondering about the joys of food science it has a lot to do with the science of cooking. The different reactions that occur and what happens when you use different cooking techniques or ingredients.

For example - What is a device that measures the tenderness of meats?

If you said Warren-Bratzler shear, then you'd be right!

Was that fun?

Let's try one more: Describe hydrogenation.

Oh you know, just adding a hydrogen to an unsaturated fatty acid to raise the melting point and reduce the unsaturation of the molecule. It's not a good thing...think "hydrogenated" oils, trans fat, and increased cholesterol.

In other news it was 90+ today with no chance of rain.  I still headed outside to rock some interval sprints.  I did my usual 30/60 routine. A 1 mile warm-up followed by six sets of 30 second sprints with 60 seconds of rest.

In the food department today was very healthy..if I do say so myself! :)  I've eaten overnight oats with blueberries, a v8, salmon + quinoa, an apple, quinoa + zucchini, celery with PB and laughing cow cheese, and a chicken, berry, and avocado salad.

Oh! And I got a new doormat! Does the Fit2Flex fun never end?
And if I type any more without beautiful photos to break up the word monotony the blog police will arrest me.  If you're still reading you get 5 good karma points.
If you're a blogger, what's your blogging style and how do you deal with bloggers block?

Love and rambles in shambles,
Carissa & Kyle
