Call it poor awareness of the calendar. Monthly motivation doesn't have the same ring on the 6th of the month. But this month...I'm on it! And as you can see, I've brought some old school JT along for support.
May's goal: GET MOVING!
That might seem like a strange goal for someone as addicted to fitness as us, but hear me out.
Kyle bought me a FitBit. The FitBit deserves its own post, but here's a quick rundown:
FitBit is a tiny device that tracks your daily steps, flights climbed, calories burned, and sleep. Your movement is wirelessly sent to the FitBit website and it allows you to easily see you daily results. FYI- Lindsay has a great post on her FitBit.

What has been a real eye-opener is that there are some days where I barely take 3,000 steps.
On days that I have school, I spend 2 hours in the car, 4+ hours in class, and then I head home and blog or study. On days where I run the total is higher, but I hardly ever reach the magical 10,000 steps threshold.
Enter May's goal. I want to reach 10,000 steps per day at least 3 days a week.
This will mean being more active on my breaks in school and adding in afternoon walks in lieu of blog reading or tweeting. I'd like to try to run more, but my knee is still causing me trouble. For the first week of May I'm aiming for 10,000 steps every single day. Period.
The extra steps will also mean extra calories burned and hopefully better sleep for me.
If you'd like to join in on this challenge let me know. We can push each other and if you're on Twitter use #moveitMay.

What's your goal this month?
Love and the two-step,
Carissa & Kyle
