It's no secret that I am closely involved with RunDisney and the Disney Marathon.
I love my job! If I'm there this January yelling "Go" with Mickey it will be my 9th marathon start.
That being said....I don't know any RunDisney secrets....but I do know that this year's 20th Anniversary Marathon is going to be AMAZING!
The RunDisney staff literally works full-time on races. It's all they do and they are awesome at it. They are passionate about providing an outstanding experience to over 50,000 runners each year.
If you have been toying with the idea of running the Disney Marathon this year I think you should do it. And not just because I like to increase the number of people who wave to me in the corrals.
There will be a new course. This is big news. Check it out:
I think most runners will like the new course. Less time on back roads and more time in the parks. The runners will also get to run through Wide World of Sports which is my Disney home! :)
In other non Disney related news, May is Mediterranean Food Month. I think I subconsciously knew, because all our meals this week were Mediterranean inspired. Tilapia with a warm tomato and caper sauce, olive stuffed chicken, and our standard Greek salad.
Kyle and I also continued our Thursday night date with a delicious Turkish meal. We went to Bosphorous on Park Ave in Winter Park. Before we went I bought a $25 gift certificate for $4 on restaurant.com. Survey says? $21 savings! <insert hand clap>
Our meal consisted of lavash bread and hummus, red wine, a shared Greek salad, and the okra saute with chicken. Oh I love okra! I rarely see it on menus and was elated to find it nestled in a delicious tomato broth!
Our dinner was fabulous and I will gladly return for more Turkish food (and wine) soon!
Here's something to think about. In America we are constantly praising the benefits of the "Mediterranean Diet"...so.....what do Greek dietitians recommend to their clients??
Hmmmm......Go ahead talk amongst yourselves and then get back to me.
I am pretty jazzed for this weekend, because there's nothing on the agenda. Never happens. I look forward to more dates, good eats, and possibly a movie...possibly with superheroes...possibly with popcorn.
Did you eat anything Mediterranean inspired this week?
Love and Crete,
Carissa & Kyle
