Ouch my legs!

That's what I was saying during today's workout. "Ouch my legs!" That was when I could speak.  The rest of the time I just started blankly at the wall, waiting for my sense of life to return.  So naturally I want to share the workout with you, so you can feel the pain too!

Today's workout came about, but I wasn't allowed to hold weights or do any upper body.

I went to my ortho for a follow-up on the herniated discs in my neck.  They are still causing me pain and I had to do something else about it.  I had avoided steroid injections for 16+ months, but I can't see being in pain all the time. Something had to give.  I was afraid I was going to have to get 3 injections into my neck via X-ray machine. Luckily, my Doc recommended an injection into a "trigger point" in my trap where a lot of the pain was originating from.  After the shot I'll try several weeks of physical therapy and re-evaluate from there.  Aren't auto accident injuries fun????

Wow, that was a mouthful.
The moral of that story was: 1. I couldn't use my arms in today's workout (which dr. said was okay to do) and 2: I needed to burn a lot of calories in just a few movements. Enter 275 pound squats. Holy moly kids!

After the world stopped spinning, I refueled with a Green Goodness shake!
In the mix:

  • Calcium enriched OJ
  • Organic spinach
  • Frozen peaches
  • GAT vanilla Prolein protein powder
  • 1T organic coconut oil
I added to coconut oil to see if it would help keep me fuller. After that workout and a shot of steroids, however will anything keep me full?

I also want to give a shout out to Brian of the Central Florida Top 5 who said hello to me at last night's IOA Corporate 5k in Downtown Orlando.
And thanks for the pic! :) This face is me going, "I'm trying to announce these runners...but I know you from somewhere....but where...."
Except I kinda look like I'm singing??? la la llaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Do eat or cook with coconut oil? Why or why not?

Love and hormones,
Carissa & Kyle

  1. I cook with it sometimes, mainly in curry dishes but I bake with it quite a bit.

I used coconut oil for "lotion" and have eaten a spoonful here adn there but I have yet to cook with it. I must try this!

  3. I love using coconut oil for cooking, but my favourite thing is for beauty...makeup remover and lotion. Sometimes I blend it in smoothies too!

  5. I hope you find relief soon! I went through with the ultrasound guided (less radiation) injections for my hip but unfortunately ended up needing to have surgery since the damage was much more extensive. Now I'm recovering!
