Here are 5 things we're loving this week:
1. New Blog Design
I'm sure you've noticed that the blog looks a little different! What do you think? We think it looks "super"!!!!
When we were playing around with ideas for the new design somehow superheroes came to mind. It was also by default, because every "fitness" grapic/cartoon person out there has hair. Where's the love for the bald men of fitness?
But in terms of the superhero, we think every person has a superhero inside them. I read many other blogs and think, "How can they get all that done?" Moms who work and workout. I'm in awe of you. We just want to share workouts and easy, healthy recipes to supplement the superhero lifestyle of our readers!
We hope you like the new design and would love any feedback!
Thanks to Erica from The Cutest Blog on the Block Custom design for all the help and creative magic!
2. Coconut
I have been loving the tropical wonderfulness of coconut this week. I used coconut to add sweetness and texture to my apple cinnamon baked oatmeal, I chugged coconut water after Bikram Yoga, and I found a new protein bar. It's from the makers of Zone Perfect and it's called Simple Toasted Coconut. I'm trying to keep my protein bars as clean as possible...meaning I need to read and know what every ingredient is. These bars had a great (coconut) flavor and all natural ingredients. A little high in sugar, but I can handle that.
3. Mix1
In the quest to fuel our bodies with whole foods, we have been loving Mix1 shakes.
I did a review on them a while ago. They also sponsored our Fit2Flex50 Challenge. The shakes are all-natural, free of lactose and gluten, and contain three servings of fruits & veggies. Kyle and I are often approached to sell supplements and we typically turn most down because the products are made with too many artificial ingredients. We don't sell Mix1, however it is a product that we both use and fully endorse. If we could sell it on the street like a lemonade stand...we would!
4. Stretching
I am still dealing with whatever knee/hip/IT band pain I created in myself. I was able to run 1 mile this week..yeah!
There was a little tightness in my knee, but one I stretched it felt a little better. I don't want to push it, so I will try to go 1.5 next week. I've been stretching a lot, foam rolling, and spending way too much time with a tennis ball. It's very useful for working knots out of my calves and glutes. Warning - it is not a pleasant experience.

5. Startling Stat
Here's something for you to think about this weekend. 2002. What happened that year?
Well, yes I graduated high school. Whoop woo!

As I learned in my most recent class, we have all the food on Earth to prevent hunger, but it's not distributed properly. It just makes you think. Well it makes me think. What are your thoughts?
I hope you have a great holiday weekend!
What's your favorite Easter memory? (psst- still working on adjusting the comment form after the blog update)
Love and super couples,
Carissa & Kyle
