Today's post features Madeline of Food, Fitness, and Family.
Madeline is a FitFluential Ambassador, Army wife, and Mamma to a gorgeous baby girl, Emmalyne.
I chose to post Madeline's feature today, because we are taking on the Dirty Girl Mud Run in Atlanta today! I'm excited to meet Madeline for the first time in person and enjoy the mud. Look for recaps of the race soon on both of our blogs.
And now....let's get to know Food, Fitness, and Family:
Madeline is a new mom and blogger sharing her passion for healthy living thru delicious eats, sweaty workouts, and family anecdotes. She lives in Savannah, GA where her husband is stationed in the Army. She firmly believes that a cup of iced coffee and some retail therapy can do wonders.
Fit2Flex 5 Questions:
1. Why did you start blogging?
1. Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging back when I got engaged in 2008 as a way to keep family and friends updated. When I moved to Texas to be with my Army husband it became a documentary of our life. I have always been passionate about healthy living so when I realized that there was a whole blogging community my blog transitioned into what it is today last summer.
2. What is your most popular blog post?
My most popular post is actually really recent. I shared my 6-month post-baby body update at the beginning of the month! I am very proud of my progress and worked HARD for every pound and inch lost. The positive feedback from readers literally brought tears to my eyes!3. What post are you most proud of?
I have two posts that I am most proud of ... First, Emmalyne's birth story. Emmalyne is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me and being her mother is the greatest blessing.
Second, my post about learning to love my mom body. Negative self-image plagues many women, especially new moms. Learning to embrace our bodies and celebrate what they are capable of is a long road but a necessary one. It motivated me to reach my 6-month postpartum goal of fitting into my pre-pregnancy jeans too ;)
4. What is your favorite healthy treat?
My favorite healthy treat is fresh fruit! I LOVE strawberries. I also eat a banana before every long run.
5. What is a typical Saturday like for you?
Oh goodness ... a typical Saturday involves a family run, grocery shopping, chores, and lots of baby snuggles! Chris and I will typically rent a movie and hang low around the house. We're party animals, I know ;)
