Tinker Bell Half Marathon

Fairy wings? Check.
Pixie Dust? Check.
11,280 female half marathon runners? Oh yeah!
Sunday morning at 545 PST we officially kicked off the first ever Tinker Bell Half Marathon!  A HUGE congrats to all the blogger, FitFluential ambassadors, Twitter pals, and runners who finished!

Rudy & I were out at the start at 445 to begin welcoming in the runners.
I was tasked to interview actress Megyn Price from CBS's Rules of Engagement and actor Sean Astin.  You may know him from the Goonies, Rudy, or a little movie series called Lord of the Rings!
They were both super sweet and excited to be running.  It was Megyn's first half and she even got a little emotional talking about setting a good example for her daughter.
Sean was one of just 920 men running.  Sean sent his 1000th tweet at the finish line which I thought was pretty cool.  He uses a twitter hashtag #run3rd to dedicate his runs to anyone you like.  Tweet him next time you cross a start line.

With our usual start line fun, the 5 corrals of runners were off in less than 30 minutes.
They ran through DisneyLand, scenic Anaheim, and finally California Adventure Park before joining us at the finish.
Onto the finish...
The winner was dressed in Tinker Bell costume...wings and all!  How cool is that?
I loved seeing all the costumes! I think I would be nervous to run 13.1 in a costume...hello rubbing? But it looked so good!  Think I can get Kyle to go 13.1 dressed up?

Rudy & I welcomed in all the runners on a beautiful Southern California morning...and we rocked our fairy wings!
VIP/ChearZone seating
After the race Mom & I napped and then hit up DisneyLand.
It was busy but we managed to hit up Pirates of the Caribbean and the Indiana Jones ride which we don't have in Florida.  A cast member heard us talking about never having been on Indy.  He said he was going to make some "magic" and gave us a Fast Pass.  How cool!
I finished the night with a sweet bag of kettle corn!  Happy girl!
I had the best time at DisneyLand!  Work + play +pixie dust = all smiles! And I got to hang out with my Mommy!

Have you raced this year?  Do you want to?

Love and never growing up,
Carissa & Kyle

  1. You look so much like your Mom!

I'd love to go to Disneyland one day, although I hear it's a lot smaller than Disneyworld. It would also be fun to do the whole coast to coast thing!

  7. I wish I could have done that one. Disney seems to know what they're doing when it comes to races. I haven't raced yet this year, but I hope to soon!
