The expo is open, the runners are arriving, and the pixie dust is ready to fly…really!
I arrived in Orange County yesterday afternoon after a relatively easy flying experience. My body and my mind keep getting confused as I attempt to stay on an East Coast sleeping and eating schedule.
My mom got to travel with me from Virginia so she is enjoying lots of Disney fun…as I work…
My first order of business was a fitting for my costume for the Neverland Family Fun Run 5k, which is Friday night. I don’t want to spoil anything but I’ll just say that it’s real sparkly and real cute! Pictures to come tomorrow!
After my fitting it was 3pm and I was confused. I was hungry…it was dinner time…..but it was also 3pm. I nibbled on some fruit from a platter that was delivered to my room and then we decided to head over the Downtown Disney in search of food.
| I may need one of these during my trip. How cute! |
It took us a while to find healthy, fresh food, as it was 3pm and a random time where several restaurants were closed. We settled on UVA – a tapas style outdoor bar. The weather was spectacular! Warm and sunny!
My Mom and I shared 3 small plates. A Mediterranean dip trio, a grilled chicken cobb salad, and a butternut squash flatbread.
Then it was 630pm and I went to bed! It was awesome! I actually got 8 hours of sleep before our 4am rehearsal.
Safety vests at night!
After rehearsal we had a entertainment meeting at Denny’s. I had their Fit Slam. It was pretty good. I added pico de gallo to my eggs and had a big cup of coffee. I avoided taking a picture of my breakfast during the meeting. But just picture egg whites and fruit...that's what it looked like.
Now I’m going to get in a strength training workout before heading over to the health and fitness expo!
Do you visit the Expo at races? What vendors do you like to see?
Love and wings,
Carissa & Kyle

Umm the Mediterranean trio dip looks out of this world! Running this 1/2 is on my bucket list. Have fun announcing it :)
ReplyDeleteSo excited to hear about the Tinker Bell - since I'm running the Princess! :) Makes me wish I was in Disneyland this weekend...
ReplyDeleteI love expos! I always plan on spending lots of time there, depending on big of a race it is. I like all the runner crap booths; you know, charms, license plates, i.e. all the stuff that annoyingly announces to everyone "I'm a runner!" I always do the Bondiband booth, too. I buy 3 at every expo. I wear them all the time. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteMmmmm......that mediterranean trio dip looks fab!
ReplyDeleteAnd I LOVE LOVE LOVE expos. I could spend HOURS just walking around and browsing! Unfortunately, my husband is usually with me and gets restless after about a half an hour. Lol.
Thanks for sharing all the fun from the Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend - I wish I was there! It's exciting to look at all the photos and read all about the expo, etc. I'm counting the days until the Princess Half Marathon Weekend! :-)
