Suite 230 Launch and Ocean Prime Dinner

Life is funny how you have really busy nights and then nights where you sit in your PJ's like a bum.  Friday night was a busy one and we loved it!

If you're just catching up from a great weekend here's some posts you might have missed:
- 12 minute plyo workout
- Fit2Flex on GalTimeTV with at home training moves

We started our night at the Launch party for Suite 230 clothing at the Rosen Center.
They are a clothing company who makes thought provoking graphic tees.
I love a good graphic tee and really liked what Suite 230 presented.  Their launch party was very trendy with awesome lighting and an unveiling featuring live mannequins. Check them out on FB.
After getting our fall fashion fix we headed to Ocean Prime to meet our friends Alexis and Brian and Orlando's Magical Dining Month.  This was our second magical dining trek of the month.  If you didn't know MDM gets you a 3-course meal at an upscale restaurant for $30. Last week I posted about our trip to Morton's.
Don't mind my creepy hand.
The company was fantastic!  I wish I could say the same for the food/service.  I hadn't heard great things about Ocean Prime prior to this and I don't have a glowing review to share either.

Here's my deal: Magic Dining Month is a great incentive to get locals into top Orlando restaurants during a typically slow tourist month.  My beef with Ocean Prime is that it felt like we were given sub-par food and service because we were there for a "deal".  As you can see from the blog we are fans of a "fancy" dinner.  Wow us and we'll return at full price.  Guess where we won't be returning? If you guessed Ocean Prime that's right!  And it's not because the valet stole cash out of our car too! :)

I started my meal with a salad with goat cheese which was fine.
My dinner was tilapia with crab meat and green beans.  I actually liked my meal.
Kyle got the filet (shocker) which was an entirely different portion size from Brian's steak.  It didn't come out hot and the mashed potatoes were a hot mess.
Dessert was again creme brulee.  We LOVE some creme brulee!  I dreamed about Morton's for days after last weekend.  This one was a bummer.  The sugar wasn't evenly browned and it felt like it had been put together hours ago.  Come on - don't botch the brulee!
I don't like to complain, but I do like to be honest.  I had a great night with friends and that's what matters.

Love and fashion forward,
Carissa & Kyle
