Where'd ya go?

Did I tell you we had a busy weekend planned?  Cuz we had a busy weekend!

Our 1st dinner party aka Greekfest was a delicious success!  All the food was amazing!  Greek foods may just be my favorites...besides mashed potatoes.

We dined on Greek salad,
Falafel, tabouli, and the most amazing Greek yogurt cucumber sauce made by Carissa (not me- V.1.0)
Lemon roasted Greek potatoes.  They were great and I will be making them on many more dinner party occassions.  I marinated the potatoes before with chicken broth, lemon, EVOO, and oregano.  They were then roasted with fresh rosemary for about an hour at 425.
We also had grilled chicken and steak.  I had chicken which in on the left side of my plate.  I don't think I ate my pita wedges, but I went back for more falafel and yogurt sauce.

We gave Alexis the task of a Greek dessert.  Since she did such an AMAZING job she may be stuck making dessert for every future dinner party.
She made revani which I think is Turkish.  It was a deliciously moist cake drizzled with a simple syrup with lemon.  But she didn't stop there- she made homemade cinnamon whipped cream and brought fresh pisatchios for the top!  Talk about somebody who needs a food blog!
It was so good that we all enjoyed 2 pieces!
We attempted to play Cranium, however the girls were beating the boys so badly that they gave in halfway through....because they hadn't moved off start!  :)

It was a wonderful night and a great inaugural dinner for our new table!

Who's next to "be our guest"?

Love and good times,
Carissa & Kyle

  4. Looks like a great party! Those potoates look fabulous. I am a sucker for Greek potatoes. We have them at EVERY holiday.

So you have a friend named Carissa too? My brother's fiance is also a Carissa - definitely NOT a common name, but a pretty one! Do you get "Clarissa" a lot?

  6. Hey Michelle- that's funny about the Carissa's. My nutrition teacher actually calls me "Clarissa" - I just ignore it. I feel bad correcting people.
