The party continues...

If you're just catching up from a great weekend....don't worry!  So are we!
We started Friday night with a great dinner party.

Saturday we had 2 times the party fun.  First up was Kyle's sister's Kesley's graduation party.  We dined on Sonny's BBQ.  I had chicken with BBQ sauce and some veggies, lots of fruit, and then Kyle talked me into the cheesecake.  Me like.  Mmm.

We left Kelsey's early to go downtown to celebrate (ok this might get confusing) Kyle's cousin's fiancee's birthday party.  Ok- that wasn't so bad.  Taina is my soon to be "sister-in-law" as I like to call her even though Shawn and Kyle are just cousins.

We had dinner at Shari Sushi first.  Kyle and I shared miso soup, chicken teriakyi, and a lobster tempura roll.  We are trying to work on increasing our fish intake...but we're poultry lovers at heart.

We spent the night downtown celebrating Taina's special day.  And no, I didn't take any pics. I didn't even bring my camera.  I'm a blogging bum I know!

Sunday I knew I needed some sweat and fitness in my life so I went for a 2 mile HIIT run.  My Garmin is amazing!  I can set it for whatever interval type I want.  And it does all the counting for me and beeps when it's time to slow down/speed up.  I love you Garmin!

I did 2 miles of running with 6-30 second sprint intervals (7 min pace) with 90 seconds of rest in between.  It was hot but it felt good.
I should've run 1000 miles because we headed over to Taina and Shawn's for a birthday lunch.  A delicious lunch of pizza and red velvet cake!
The pizza was from Stromboli's in Windermere and it's seriously good.  I rarely eat pizza and when I do it's plain cheese.  I think the toppings take away from the beautiful pizza taste.  What do you think?
We also had red velvet cake which was made from scratch by Kyle's Uncle Glenn.  I give it - 2 thumbs up!
I hope Taina had a great birthday as we had an amazing time with family.  But for now I'm exhausted!  I'm off to have some brussel sprouts and a lot of water for dinner.  Pizza thirsties.

What's your favorite pizza topping?

Love and cheese,
Carissa & Kyle

  1. Our favorite combo right now is Mango BBQ sauce, grilled chicken, red onion, red pepper and cilantro :)

  3. That cake looks delicious.

I'm with you. Pizza should be simple. I like to make my own crust and just top it with fresh mozarella, crushed tomato, and basil. Yum, AND I know what's in it. Bonus!

  4. Red velvet cake is Kyle's fave. One of his clients made us red velvet and chocolate PB cupcakes today! And I CANNOT resist!

  5. I get pizza thirsties too - gonna steal your term! I like toppings on my pizza, but simple ones are best, like olives or feta. A little goes a long way.
