Now onto a 4th of July recap!
I started my morning bright and early with over 3200 runners for Track Shack's 20th annual Watermelon 5k.

It was fun to see so many people out in their festive red, white, and blue! Yeah America!
My favorite part of the am is the watermelon eating contest. 10 contestants, 3 minutes, 1/8 of a watermelon, no hands. Messy, sticky fun. I even nibbled some watermelon. It was so sweet and wonderful. DYK- watermelon is about 92% water. Hence the name "water" melon. Wow- I'm quick.
After the race and a quick trip to Publix I whipped up some pasta salad and walnut brownies. We were headed to Kyle's cousin's home for a good ole American 4th of July BBQ! We had burgers, turkey burgers, corn, delicious baked beans, pasta salad, and sangria! Yum! I think I enjoyed the beans and sangria the most.

It was fun hanging out and spending time with family. That's what holidays are all about right?
At night I was shocked by the massive volume of fireworks set off. As I type it's 3:31pm on July 5th and I STILL hear fireworks being set off! My neighbors had some real deal fireworks too. The big ones with the pretty colors! Ohhhhh! The cats were not fans.
I hope you had a great holiday and are back on the "healthy horse" now!
Here's a few posts you might have missed over the weekend:
