PF Chang's Date Night

This weekend I got free lettuce wraps!  Oh yeah!  Did you?  Just go like PF Changs on FB and you can score some yummy goodness too.
Kyle and I don't cook or eat a lot of Asian food, but for some reason we love PF Chang's. Maybe because it's awesome?  We hadn't been in a really long time so when we got the free lettuc wraps we decided to go ASAP.  I made a reservation online and I'm so glad I did.  The wait otherwise was about an hour.  You're good PF, but not that good!
I like that PF Chang's has their nutrition facts on their website.  I checked before we went (and once from the table on my phone) just to be sure I wasn't doing too much dietary damage.

That's a great fit tip- try to check the nutrition facts from the restaurant before you go.  Realizing a certain dish has 1300+ calories just may tempt you to try something different and lighter.

PF Changs also has a sizable gluten-free menu.  I've been trying to cut down gluten in my diet.  I just feel better when I do.  The gluten-free menu was also generally lower in sodium than the standard menu too, so feel free to eat GF even if you don't have to.

We started our meal the same way we always do.  With the lettuce wraps.  But this time they were free!  I've tried to recreate lettuce wraps at home.  They're good, but they do not taste as good as these!
Our second course is also standard, egg drop soup.  Kyle...doesn't like soup....loves egg drop soup?  Riddle me that!  We ordered the "bowl" to share and it was more like an entire pot.  Oh well, more for leftovers.
Our entrees were both things we had never had before.  I went for the shrimp and lobster sauce (255 cal per serving) and Kyle tried the Wok Charred Beef.  I had a nibble of some of his peppers and it was spicy...oh boy!  My dish was good, but I wanted it to have a little more of a distinct flavor.  I added chili sauce which helped. Am I weird that I didn't taste lobster at all?
We also both think that PF Chang's has the best brown rice.  It's so fluffy! Can they come to my house and cook rice for me?

After dinner we enjoyed our standard fortune cookie.  I wasn't a huge fan of mine.  What do you think?  I think it's telling me to, "put my head down and get ready for some hard work." I was looking more for, "I see a beach in Fiji in your future."
Really Mr. Fortune Cookie Writer?
Love and chopsticks,
Carissa & Kyle
