Since I posted my blog about Miss USA, I received mixed feedback from many readers about the bodies of the contestants. Some were motivated by their lean physiques, others felt they were too thin, some were envious, and some felt defeated by the ideals set forth by the contestants.
Yes, those girls bodies are slammin!
And I can tell you from experience that they worked very hard to get those bodies. They sweated, they trained, and they exercised extreme willpower over the diets. I know. I've been there.
So did their teeny-weeny bikinis inspire you or frustrate you?
Take their size out of the equation. Yes, they are very skinny. Arguably too skinny and I can guarentee a good bit of those girls hadn't had a carb/sugar in weeks! (Don't believe the press shots of them eating ice cream. Haha. Ive been there. Hold spoon, smile, eat raw veggies)
But they had a goal- to shine at Miss USA and from what I saw on Sunday night they all achieved that.
So whether or not you nor I can ever look like Miss USA that's not important.
Here's what is: Be inspired by their dedication. Set a goal for yourself. Lose 10lbs, run a 5k, feel proud in a bathing suit...then do it! Celebrate you. When you feel good it shines through every part of your personality and that is worth more than any crown...maybe :)
Love and positive motivation, Carissa & Kyle

I haven't been watching it, but these pictures are definitely inspiring. I don't want to be that skinny, but I wouldn't mind some more definition. But it's also important to not hate who you are right now. Obviously, we always want to improve and be our best, but we can't hate who we are. I'm in the best shape of my life and I'm very happy with that. But I'm also always pushing myself to improve.
ReplyDeleteI agree that it's right to feel inspired by them instead of discouraged, but I also feel that girls shouldn't necessarily want to look exactly like them. That's not healthy for everyone's body.
Love who are but always be improving! :)
Inspiration! I've lost about 10 pounds in the past 6 weeksish and feel better about my body than I have in a while...and these ladies only make me want to push that much harder!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Love the icecream photo op truth:-)
Totally inspiration! I hate it when people speak badly of beauty pageants. I mean they worked to get where they are, and looked great in the end result! SO glad with the new Miss America by the way, was rooting for her the whole time:)
ReplyDeleteThanks guys for the feedback! I agree! Those bodies are so inspiring...they worked sooo hard to get there! Good for them...and I'm only a "tiny" bit jealous!
